The designation of Dunmanway as a priority area by the County Development Board led to the formation in 2006 of the Dunmanway Interagency Development Committee with the aim of progressing the town and its hinterland.

The Committee, which has 21 members representing local groups and agencies, has established six sub-groups which undertake identified tasks. The working groups report to the Interagency Committee at regular intervals.

The County Cork Sports Partnership sits on the Health/Welfare and Social Inclusion sub-group.
