Academy of Emergency Care in Sport

The Academy of Emergency Care in Sport was formed to provide training with national qualifications to those who offer “Immediate Emergency care” at sporting events. The Academy is based in the Emergency Medicine Department of Cork University Hospital. There are a range of courses on offer from Introductory Level to Advanced and Instructor Training.

Emergency Care in Sport – Level 1

Emergency Care in Sport Level 1 training is held in conjunction with the Academy of Emergency Care in Sport. This course is available to those involved in organised sports/physical groups. Course content includes:

Hillwalker

The emphasis relates to potential incidents and challenges in sporting environments including land, water, low and medium altitude, indoor and outdoor, natural and synthetic, formal and informal environs. Hill Walkers – Emergency Care and Rescue Skills
